Lisbon has glory holes. Several of them, in several venues, and unlike in some European cities where you have to piece this together from forum threads and outdated listings, the venues here are reasonably open about what they offer.
Four places in particular: Trombeta Bath and XXL Lisbon Club in Bairro Alto, Drako Club also centrally located, and SaunApolo 56. Each operates differently and serves a different slice of the Lisbon sex venue scene. Here is what each one actually is.
The Venues
Trombeta Bath
Trombeta is Bairro Alto flagshipgay sauna and the highest-traffic sex venue in Lisbon. Entry is 16 to 20 EUR. The amenities list covers jacuzzi, steam room, dry sauna, private cabins, glory holes, dark room, maze, massage, and a bar. On weekends it runs continuously from Friday noon to Monday 6am without closing, which tells you the kind of place it is.

The crowd skews toward European tourists more than the other venues on this list, which means the energy on a Saturday is international and high-volume. If you want the most active glory hole situation in Lisbon on a weekend, this is the most consistent choice. Walk-in only, no membership.
XXL Lisbon Club
XXL is at Calcada do Tijolo 8 in Bairro Alto. It is a fetish and cruising club rather than a sauna: no steam room or spa facilities, just bar, dark room, sling, cage, and glory holes. Entry is 6 EUR minimum consumption rather than a door price, which is unusually accessible. It runs themed nights: Gang Bang Party on Tuesdays, Dark Room Party on Fridays, Fetish Party on Sundays. Hours are daily 17:00 to 02:00. The themed structure means the vibe shifts considerably depending on which night you go.
Drako Club
Drako is the most explicitly sex-venue-coded of the three. It is a men-only private sex club with an attached gay sex shop. Entry is 10 EUR including a drink credit. Amenities: private cabins, sling, glory holes, dark room, pissing zone. It serves a crowd that comes specifically for what it offers rather than for drinks or a sauna experience. Walk-in.
SaunApolo 56
SaunApolo is Lisbon oldest LGBT sauna, open since 2011 and explicitly mixed in its welcome policy: gay, lesbian, trans, and straight-curious visitors. Entry is 40 EUR, significantly higher than the other venues on this list. The facilities are the most comprehensive: saltwater pool and jacuzzi, Turkish bath, dry sauna, cinema room, dark room, glory holes, sling room, private cabins with video, bar, and massage services. Hours are daily 14:00 to 02:00.
The trade-off is real: reviews divide between praise for the space and facilities, and notes that the venue can be quiet, particularly on weekday afternoons. The price premium buys cleanliness and equipment more than guaranteed atmosphere. For the right person at the right time it is excellent. As a walk-in on a Tuesday afternoon, it can be sparse.

WoofX
WoofX is the bear and fetish bar on this list, not a sauna and not a sex club in the same sense as the others. It has a dark room but no confirmed glory holes. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday 20:00-02:00, Friday and Saturday 21:00-03:00. Minimum 5 EUR. The crowd is specifically bears and fetish-oriented and it gets busy after midnight. Worth knowing if that is your scene, but it is not the glory hole answer.
Practical Notes
All five venues are walk-in. None require advance membership or registration. The Bairro Alto concentration means Trombeta, XXL, and WoofX are all within walking distance of each other, making it possible to try more than one in an evening.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Lisbon gay venue is best for glory holes?
Trombeta Bath is the most consistently active for glory hole experiences on a weekend. It has the highest foot traffic of any gay sex venue in Lisbon and runs continuously from Friday noon to Monday morning, so the volume of men in the space is highest at weekend peak hours. XXL Lisbon Club offers glory holes in a club environment rather than a sauna, which suits a different kind of visit: there is no steam room or sauna to warm up in, but the 6 EUR minimum consumption entry makes it extremely accessible. Drako Club is the most explicitly sex-venue-coded of the three and attracts a crowd that comes specifically for that purpose. For facilities, SaunApolo 56 offers the fullest sauna experience alongside glory holes and a sling room, but at 40 EUR entry it is the highest price and reviews note that it can be quiet on weekday afternoons.
Do you need a membership to visit gay sex venues in Lisbon?
No. All of the venues on this list operate as walk-in spaces. Trombeta Bath, XXL Lisbon Club, Drako Club, SaunApolo 56, and WoofX all accept visitors on the door without advance registration or membership. Entry costs range from 5 EUR minimum consumption at WoofX to 40 EUR at SaunApolo 56. There is no application process, no online booking required, and no dress code enforcement, though themed nights at XXL naturally attract crowds who engage with those themes. For all venues, turning up during the evening hours on weekends gives you the highest likelihood of an active space.
Is gay cruising in Lisbon safe?
Listbon indoor gay venues are generally considered safe environments. The saunas, clubs, and bars on this list operate commercially and have staff. The consent culture in established Lisbon gay venues is consistent with that in any Western European gay sex venue: signals and refusals are expected to be respected, and persistent unwanted attention is unusual and managed by venue staff if it occurs. Portugal decriminalized same-sex activity in 1982 and has had marriage equality since 2010. There is no specific security risk for gay men at these venues beyond the standard awareness any visitor to any late-night venue would apply.
What is the difference between Trombeta Bath and SaunApolo 56?
Both are full gay saunas with dark rooms and glory holes, but they serve different purposes. Trombeta Bath is the higher-traffic option: busier, more tourist-mixed, lower price (16-20 EUR), and runs continuously through the weekend. It is the more reliable choice if atmosphere and volume of men in the space is the priority. SaunApolo 56 is more expensive (40 EUR), more explicitly all-orientation in its welcome policy (gay, lesbian, trans, mixed-orientation couples), and has more extensive facilities including a saltwater pool, cinema room, and massage. It runs daily rather than 24/7 on weekends. Reviews praise the cleanliness and facilities but note that attendance can be sparse, particularly on weekday afternoons. Practical advice: Trombeta for a weekend visit when volume matters, SaunApolo if you want a fuller sauna experience and the 40 EUR entry does not deter you.
Where is Bairro Alto and is it close to other gay venues?
Bairro Alto is one of Lisbon central historic neighbourhoods, located on a hill above the Chiado area and adjacent to Principe Real, which is the primary gay neighbourhood for bars and restaurants. Trombeta Bath, XXL Lisbon Club, and WoofX are all within walking distance of each other in or near Bairro Alto, making it possible to move between venues on foot in an evening. SaunApolo 56 is also centrally located. The broader Principe Real gay bar scene, covered in the Lisbon gay bars and nightlife guide, is a short walk from all of these venues. The geographic concentration of Lisbon gay sex venues in this central area is one of the city practical advantages for gay visitors.
